The department currently holds an Insurance Services Office Class 3 fire protection class. The ISO is a private organization that evaluates a community’s ability to provide fire protection. A Class 1 represents exemplary fire protection and a Class 10 indicates that a community’s fire protection is lacking. The lower the Class the better the fire protection and greater the savings for the home/business owner regarding insurance premiums. Based on this criteria the Bloomfield Fire Department ranks in the top 5 percent in fire departments in New Mexico. For more information about the Insurance Services Office see their website. |
